How to share a category or multiple credentials at once

If you often find yourself needing to share multiple items with many other Dashlane users, you might find it tedious to share these credentials one by one. Below, you'll find the solution to this problem!

There is no limit to how many items you can share or how many users you can share with, however, if you are using the free version of Dashlane, you can only share a maximum of 5 items with each user.

Sharing a whole category of credentials

On Windows

Open your Passwords section and display your credentials by Category. Next, expand the desired category by simply clicking on it, and your passwords saved for that category will appear.

You should notice an icon with three horizontal lines titled More next to the Category name. Click on it and choose Share. All of the credentials from that category will then be pre-filled on the Sharing form. You'll only have to enter the email addresses of the Dashlane users you wish to share with and your desired permission settings. To share, click Send.

On macOS

Open your Passwords section and display your credentials by Category. Next, right-click on the desired Category you would like to share and click Share. All of the credentials from that category will then be pre-filled on the Sharing form. You'll only have to enter the email addresses of the Dashlane user(s) you wish to share with and your desired permission settings. To share, click Send.

Sharing multiple credentials at once

Open your Passwords section and sort your credentials so that the credentials you wish to share appear together. For instance, if 3 out of the 5 credentials you want to share are saved under your "Social Media" category, sort your credentials by Category and open "Social Media".

Next, left-click, hold, and drag a square over the credentials you wish to share to select these three credentials. Then right-click anywhere within the section and choose Share. Additionally, you can left-click on the first item, hold Shift (or Command on macOS), and left-click on the final item to select multiple items. All of the credentials from that category will then be pre-filled on the Sharing form. You'll only have to enter the email addresses of the Dashlane user(s) you wish to share with and your desired permission settings. To share, click Send.
