How to retrieve Dashlane-generated passwords that have not been saved into Dashlane

If you used Password Changer to change one of your passwords but Dashlane did not save the new password that has been randomly generated, follow the steps below to find that password.

To do this, open the Password History tool in Dashlane.

Password history

Use this tool to find any older passwords that were previously saved in your credentials and which have been replaced by newer passwords. This also includes the passwords generated by Password Changer.

Note that the passwords are listed under the date on which they have been generated, and not the date on which the password was changed.

On Windows

  1. Open the Dashlane application
  2. Select Tools in the menu bar at the top of the window
  3. Choose Password history… in the list

On macOS

  1. Open the Dashlane application
  2. Select Tools in the menu bar at the top of the screen
  3. Choose Password history… in the list
