How to fill or clear fields in a form

Filling only a single field

If you need to fill only one single field in a form so that, for instance, your name is not automatically filled in all the other fields, you can press and hold the Control or Ctrl key on Windows, or the Alt key on Mac OS X, which may be also labeled Option or ⌥, and click on the Dashlane Web card which is displayed to automatically fill your data.

  • On Windows:
    • Click once on the field to display the Dashlane Web card with your data,
    • Press and hold the Ctrl (or Control) key while the Web card is displayed,
    • Select one of the items in the Dashlane Web card.
  • On Mac OS X:
    • Click once on the field to display the Dashlane Web card with your data,
    • Press and hold the Alt key (or Option or ) while the Web card is displayed,
    • Select one of the items in the Dashlane Web card.

Clearing all the related fields in a form

If you want to quickly clear all the related fields in the same form, you can press and hold the Shift ⇧ key and select any item in the Dashlane Web card.

The fields will then be cleared depending on the form structure. It may be the whole form, or be only the last name and first name fields, or the password and password confirmation fields.

If the selected field is not related to any other field, only this single field will be cleared.

  • On Windows and Mac OS X:
    • Click on one of the fields that you want to clear, in order to display the Dashlane Web card with your data,
    • Press and hold the Shift ⇧ key while the Web card is displayed,
    • Select any item in the Web card to clear the fields.

Clearing only the current field

If you need to quickly clear a single field and want to be sure you do not clear any other field in the form, you can press and hold both Ctrl (or Control) and Shift ⇧ keys if you are on Windows, or both Alt (which may also be labeled Option or ) and Shift ⇧ keys if you are on Mac OS X. Then click on any item in the Dashlane Web card to clear the field.

  • On Windows:
    • Click once on the field to display the Dashlane Web card with your data,
    • Press and hold both Ctrl (or Control) and Shift ⇧ keys while the Web card is displayed,
    • Select one of the items displayed on the Dashlane Web card.
  • On Mac OS X:
    • Click once on the field to display the Dashlane Web card with your data,
    • Press and hold the Alt (or Option or ) and Shift ⇧ keys while the Web card is displayed,
    • Select one of the items displayed on the Dashlane Web card.
