What is Dashlane’s Mobile Backup?

Dashlane’s Mobile Backup is an offer designed specifically for single mobile device users to backup their encrypted data on Dashlane.

What is Mobile Backup?

Mobile Backup was designed for users who currently use Dashlane for free on a single mobile device and want extra protection for the passwords stored on that device. Should anything happen to your device or if you purchase a new one, your previously backed up data can be instantly and securely restored on your new device. After purchasing Mobile Backup, the device that you used to purchase the offer with will become your paired and main device used with Dashlane. 

How does Mobile Backup differ from Premium?

Mobile Backup is similar to our Premium subscription, in which it also offers unlimited backup for the data saved on Dashlane, however, this feature can only be enabled on one mobile device only as opposed to multiple devices on different platforms. Mobile Backup does not include any other Premium features, such as VIP support and U2F authentication.

How do I switch my paired device?

Please follow the instructions below to switch your paired device:

On iOS:

  1. Log in to your Dashlane account from the device you would like to become your paired device
  2. Go to "Settings" and then "General"
  3. Tap on "Change paired device" and follow the instructions provided

On Android:

  1. Log in to your Dashlane account from the device you would like to become your paired device
  2. Go to "Settings" and locate the "Backup and sync" subsection at the top
  3. Tap on "Change paired device" and follow the instructions provided

How do I backup my data on my paired device?

Please follow the instructions below to backup your data on your paired device:

On iOS:
After purchasing, log in to your Dashlane account at least once from the device that you used to purchase the offer with.

On Android:
After purchasing, log in to your Dashlane account at least once from the device that you used to purchase the offer with. You may also force your device sync by going to "Settings" and tapping on "Sync now".

I’m unable to purchase Mobile Backup. What do I do?

Mobile Backup is an introductory offer for our mobile users that might not be available for you. If you have received an email about the Mobile Backup but are not able to access it to purchase, please make sure that you click the link within that email on the mobile device you wish to backup.
